Captain Profile

Capt Fred Rourk

Growing up on Albergotti Creek in Beaufort SC gave me an early appreciation for the estuaries in the low country. My brother, Captain Dan Rourk and I spent many a day, muddy, soaking chicken necks for blue crabs and any other critter we could catch. I spent years chasing King Mackerel in the SKA divisions and then on the SKA pro tour. I fished on a Tailwalker Marine 31 Contender team boat. Had some success in the tournaments and at one point Greg Holmes and I fished 20-25 tournaments a year from Venice La., to Key West Fl., up the coast to North Carolina. I enjoyed the tournaments but at the pace we competed, our wicks burnt out and that is how I ended up back in creeks from which I started. The pace of the creeks is slower, quiet, and relaxing. The creeks are not affected by the weather as much as the ocean, so most days are possible. Competition is still part of my life, but I have switched to Red Drum. Along with my brother Dan, we won an IGFA Redfish tournament in Hilton Head, along with 2 big fish trophies in the same series. I have a couple of top 5's with my partner Ronnie Pitts. Ronnie fishes the pro, Oh Boy Oberto Redfish tour. In 2008, Ronnie won the celebrity side of the Redfish/Trout tournament for Cystic Fibrosis in Charleston with the most points in the tournament. I was proud to be his guide on my Hewes Bonefisher. I have been blessed by the Lord with 2 great boys, Daniel and Noah. They are both outdoorsmen at ages 10 and 7.  There is one other person in my life that has done more than any one else to help in my fishing, my wife Hayley.  She has made it very easy for me to access the water I love so much. I have never heard, "no, you're not going fishing", in the 15 years we have been together. I love her for the support and she deserves credit for any fishing success I've had. I will be glad to share the experience with you, come join me.

6 Hour Fishing Trip - $450.00

This includes 2 adults or 1 adult and two children.

4 Hour Sun and Fun Charter - $325.00

This trip is for the children.  We will be at the children's disposal.  We can fish, explore the marsh, explore the beaches, watch dolphin, etc.  Being the Father of two young boys, I know they get bored just fishing all day.  On this trip we'll let the kids decide.

What Should You Bring

Watch the weather!  Bring plenty of clothes.  Dress for about 10 degrees cooler than the weather man says.  Bring rain gear if rain is in the forecast.  Bring any food or drinks you'd like to have for the day.  Bring any special items that you might need.  Many of the places we fish are quite a distance from the boat landing, so come prepared.  Don't forget your camera!

What Is Furnished

All rods, reels, and tackle will be furnished.  A cooler with ice will be available to store your food and drinks.  All life jackets and safety equipment will be onboard.  If your charter will include children, I will need to know their age and weight so that I will be prepared with the proper life jackets.

You do not need a fishing license.

What To Expect

Expect to have fun!  Expect to relax!
