Ban Tuna Netting

in the Bahamas

I received this from my friend Greg Vincent......

It seems there is a very high chance of a commercial purse seine fishing operation about to start in the Bahamas targeting Tuna but of course will take / kill whatever they get in their nets – Dolphin, Turtles and the list goes on!!! I do not need to go into detail as to the devastating consequences should this go ahead on such a rich and unpressured fishery as we are fortunate enough to have here in The Bahamas. It seems what we all considered a safe haven as to commercial fishing of this magnitude is now under immediate threat.
