How to Write an Article
 

Write to a title in 3 easy steps:

  • Remember to spell check!
  • Word count: Use a word calculator to give you a final word and character count.

Your article must be a 400-1500 words (2400 characters minimum).

 

Write article tips

  • Please do not include self-promotional copy, profanity or hate language. Use of all capitalized text is prohibited. Articles that do not comply will be removed.
  • Copying and pasting from a Word document? Save an send via e-mail. Photos are optional.
  • Be sure to include spaces between each paragraph.
  • Don’t forget to spell check!
  • Please read the GoFishSC’s Writing Standards.

StepEnter Search Phrase:

How do you think someone would enter a search in Google to find your piece? Examples such as “How to catch Redfish” OR “Techniques for catching sheepshead” clearly show what your article may be about. Enter one phrase only, or if the title is clear as is, you can use that here. (NOTE: You do not have to enter your name or other identifying information in the article, but we need to know your GoFishSC Forum user name.)

 

Tips for search phrase

  • What phrase would a reader looking for your content enter in a search engine? Use that phrase.
  • If you leave the Search Phrase field blank, a search phrase will be automatically generated for you based on your title. We’re cool like that.
  • Please do not include your name, your personal website, business or other self-promotion in your search phrase. The place for self-promotion is on your About Me on the GoFishSC Forum page (hence the name).
  • If you’re not sure what to write, please leave this space blank and we will use the title of the article.

E-mail your article to capt@gofishsc.com. Your article will appear on the site fairly soon and will be entered into the Contest.  We reserve the right not to include any article and to ask for revisions before publishing it on our site.
